Kenai National Wildlife Refuge-Autumn

Hiked the Centennial Trail in the Kenai Wildlife refuge from the visitors center today. It is the same hike Taunya and I did in April. Beautiful fall day today, overcast and had been raining earlier but very pleasant temperature to hike.

Unfortunately I didn’t see any moose on my hike. I say a bunch of tracks from a moose that went along the trail for a while. Of course on my way out of the refuge I saw a juvenile moose and Mom off the side of the road briefly as they ran away. They were to quick for me to get my camera and catch a picture of them.

Devil’s club

There is a lot of Devil’s Club along the trail turning yellow for the fall. I had to google what they were :). Huge leaves with red berries.

Shot these photos with my Nikon D850 and my 70-200mm 2.8 lens, I used an ISO of 400 to increase shutter speed slightly.
