Last saturday I had the great pleasure of taking some pre-prom photos of two lovely young ladies, Faith and Danielle. The time of day was between 6pm and 7:30pm so the lighting was excellent for the most part with the sun already lowish in the sky.
The location was the Greenhorn Park and reservoir.
The camera I was using that day was my D7000 with a 50mm f/1.8D lens. I set the camera’s ISO setting to its native ISO of 100 to assure greater detail with the least amount of grain possible. To obtain a good depth of field with a nice amount of bokeh in the background I set the camera to aperture mode and selected an aperture of f5.6 for most shots. The shutter speed I chose to keep subject movement blur to a minimum was around 1/200th of a sec. for most shots.
I always enjoy these opportunities to find great photo locations and poses. They give me an opportunity to learn through doing on taking pictures of individuals and groups.
