Here are the rest of the photographs from my photography trip over to the Lower Klamath National Wildlife Refuge on Labor Day. I love these Blue Herons. They are difficult to photograph because of their shy nature. It’s impossible to get close to them with out them flying off.
Nice photograph of the north face of Mt. Shasta showing off the glaciers that are some of the few in the world that are currently growing and not declining.
This is the Lava ridge that the petroglyphs are carved and painted on from the American Indian tribes of the area. It is believed they may have been carved over the last 5000 years. This ridge was at one time an island in Tule Lake, and it is believed the carvings were done from boats.
Anyone know what these black birds are? I think they are in the goose family, but I’m not sure.
One of the few canals with water in it this time of year in the basin.
Still a fan of these fast shore birds! Very small and fast in flight which makes it difficult to track and photograph them.
So not as exciting to photograph the Lower Klamath NWR in the summer as it is in the winter where the Eagles are migrating, but it was still a lot of fun to spend a day here. Please enjoy the rest of the photographs! Thanks
