South Willow Lake Flowers

In July when we went to Utah to visit my family we stayed with my sister Jolene and her family.  One of the days we were there we went on a hike with Jolene and her family up the trail to South Willow Lake.

The wildflowers were amazing on the hike and so of course I had to take a million pictures of them as we hiked!

It had rained over night and was still threatening to rain again.  This was great for photography because it meant clouds for one and it also meant water droplets on plants.

Being an optometrist I enjoyed these aspen as they looked at me with all of their “eyes”.

I took all of these “macro” photographs with my 24-120mm f/4 lens with the D800.  With the clarity and the ability to crop and still retain a large image size makes this lens and camera combination great for pseudo macro shots.

Here are the rest of the flower shots I thought were great.  I hope you enjoy them as well!
