I’ve been working on the 500+ photographs I took this past Saturday over at the Lower Klamath National Wildlife area. After I had edited the shots of this bald eagle I had to stop and share.

Christian and I were driving around the Tulelake auto tour when we came up on a tour group stopped blocking the road. I was about to be irritated when I realized they were stopped looking at a bald eagle feeding on top of a pole.

He had caught a duck and was making a meal out of him.

I think he was looking at this little black bird as dessert. I was thinking he was either brave or had a death wish, but then I thought at that close range the little bird would be much faster.

After the bird watching tour group had driven off Christian and I slowly approached the pole the eagle was on. We were able to get quite close and could hardly contain our excitement.

When he was done with his lunch snack, I now wanted him to take off. So…..I sent Christian walking quickly up to the base of the pole. This did the trick and he took off in the best direction possible for me!!!

Anyway working on the rest of the photographs from the shoot Saturday. The next one will be of waterfowl.
